While working at the New Haven Department of Social Services (DSS), Security Officer Robert Hada was stationed at the lobby post when he was urgently approached by a distressed individual whose one-year-old daughter was unresponsive and not breathing.
Officer Hada immediately stepped in. Seeing that the child had no signs of breathing and her lips were turning blue, he began administering life-saving measures. With the assistance of DSS Supervisor Stacey Fappiano, the child’s airway was cleared and she began to breathe again.
His quick thinking and decisive action in a critical moment helped save a life. We are honored to recognize Officer Hada for his bravery and outstanding response under pressure.
