Carla, Manager of Workplace Compliance and Regulatory Requirements at USI since April 2025, has been with the company since 2021. She began her career at USI as an Account Administrator, managing payroll and scheduling, ensuring operational compliance, and optimizing workforce efficiency. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence led to her promotion in 2024, followed by her advancement to her current role in 2025. Today, she manages workers’ compensation, auto, and general liability claims; conducts thorough risk assessments; and collaborates with the Training Department and Safety Team to strengthen workplace safety and compliance. She also reviews payroll for the entire company, ensuring correct coding and billing alignment with contractual obligations, and audits government payroll for accuracy and legal compliance. Her leadership is instrumental in developing loss prevention strategies and ensuring USI meets all regulatory requirements.
Before joining USI, Carla served as a paralegal for eight years at a personal injury law firm, supporting attorneys in settlement negotiations and trial preparations. She also has extensive experience in the medical field, having worked at the Domestic Violence Crisis Center and multiple Connecticut hospitals, where she provided critical support to victims with empathy and professionalism.
