Leadership in the security operations industry isn’t just about managing teams, it’s about setting an example, inspiring trust, and consistently improving. For Alwyn Waldron, these things came naturally and led to his well-deserved promotion to Field Operations Supervisor at United Security, Inc. (USI).
Alwyn began his career with USI in the field as a security officer, where he quickly became a reliable and professional officer with a do-whatever-it-takes attitude towards security operations. From the beginning, Alwyn demonstrated that he had a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and an ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of security work. His consistent performance and dedication to providing exceptional service made him stand out as a leading team member.
USI operations in Connecticut over the last year has seen incredible growth. Demand for security services increased in many areas, including residential, commercial, and event security. As new clients were brought on board and existing relationships expanded, it became evident that additional leadership was needed to maintain the same high level of service and operational efficiency. The establishment of the Field Operations Supervisor position was a strategic move to meet this expansion, with the goal of maintaining field operations running smoothly while serving both officers and clients.
As an officer, Alwyn never hesitated to take the extra step, whether it was working shifts on short notice, assisting with training new hires, or working with clients to resolve security concerns. His willingness to step up when needed did not go unnoticed. When the moment arrived to promote a Field Operations Supervisor, there was little question that Alwyn was the clear choice for the position.
Ever since he took over his new role, Alwyn made an instant impact. He has embraced his responsibilities, which include overseeing day-to-day operations across various sites, conducting regular site visits, and ensuring that officers adhere to post orders and company protocols. His hands-on approach and genuine investment in his team’s growth have fostered a positive work environment where officers feel supported and motivated to perform at their best.
“Alwyn’s dedication to work and his crew is evident in everything he does,” according to Josh Ortiz, Operations Manager with USI. “His transition to filling the supervisor role was seamless because of the respect that he’s built and his very thorough understanding of our operations.”
For Alwyn, entering the supervisor role has been both an opportunity and a challenge. “When I first started at USI, I personally experienced just how vital leadership is in this industry. I desired to be an individual people could rely on, and I take that seriously every day,” Alwyn said. ” This role allows me to not only oversee operations but also mentor and support officers in their growth. Seeing my team succeed is the most rewarding part of the job.”
Alwyn’s effectiveness as a supervisor is the product of his proactive communication, problem-solving, and dedication to safety and client satisfaction. He recognizes that effective security is more than just being present. It’s about being prepared, aware, and building good relationships with clients and the community.
“One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that security is a team effort. The best results come when we work together, trust each other, and stay committed to the mission,” said Alwyn. “USI has given me the tools for my development, and I’m excited about being able to contribute to our continued success.”
As USI continues to grow, leaders like Alwyn play key roles in maintaining the high standards of service by which USI is known for. His career progression from officer to field operations supervisor tracks the opportunities for growth at USI and the importance of finding and developing talent from within.
Congratulations to Alwyn Waldron on his well-earned promotion. We look forward to seeing his continued success as he leads the field with dedication and professionalism.
